Google Wave är nästa grej på nätet

Internet handlar om kommunikation, alla populära tjänster har kommunikation som sin kärnpunkt. Nu kommer nästa generation av kommunikation att växa fram via tjänster som Google Wave. Den lokala dialogen blir nu global, detta kommer bli en stor händelse i internethistorien, precis som de första sociala nätverken, eller när fenomen som Napster, Skype och YouTube blev ett faktum.

Vad är Google Wave?
Här kan du få en teknisk förklaring. Google Wave är om man tittar lite noga ett system, applikation, gränssnitt, server, ja en hel del faktiskt. Men det intressantaste är helt klart möjligheten med en global dialog, och det är lite osäkert om faktiskt Google riktigt förstått det själva eftersom det läggs enormt fokus på att visa interaktiviteten och vad häftigt det är att föra dialog i ”real time” när man sett deras introduktion. Jag har lärt mig en hel del på det här området med dialog och inser verkligen hur stor den delen av Google Wave kan bli.

Efter att jag byggde Familjelivs diskussionsforum och det blev enormt populärt (Sveriges i särklass största diskussionsforum med uppåt 50 000 nya inlägg/dag) insåg jag runt 2005 att nästa naturliga utvecklingssteg var att göra dialogen global. Men det kom mycket annat emellan och vi sålde bolaget och de som vi sålde till förstod nog inte vad jag pratade om så jag fick fullt upp att göra exit. Men det senaste halvåret har jag nu ägnat mig åt att återuppta denna idé och därför har jag byggt upp en helt ny social plattform som har en global kommunikation inbyggd. Tyvärr visste jag inte om Google Wave eftersom de kört i hemlighet, därför byggde jag detta med ett eget system.

Jag vet inte om just den specifika tjänsten Google Wave som applikation kommer bli en hit, men däremot vet jag med säkerhet att en del av vad som nu finns i Google Wave i form av global dialog kommer bli enormt. Det är den del som jag satsat på när vi byggt vår nästa generation av diskussionsforum, gästböcker och liknande i vårt nya koncept Byggmedia. Jag blir faktiskt lite glad för på något sätt så känns det som att jag också blir först ut med detta, hinner tom före Google Wave

Vad är då global dialog
Jag kommer att demonstrera detta i föreläsningen nästa vecka, och rent konkret är det så enkelt som så att en dialog som startas på vår heminredningscommunity kommer också vara tillgängligt i vår trädgårdscommunity eller byggcommunity. Det kanske är någon i heminredningscommunityn som frågar var man kan köpa LED-lampor och då kanske det finns en hel del personer i byggcommunityn som känner till några affärer och kan då tipsa om det. Dessa svar som lämnas i byggcommunityn syns omedelbart i heminredningscommunityn. Medlemmarna på de olika sajterna behöver alltså inte registrera sig och posta svar i någon specifik sajt utan dialogen sker där man vanligtvis håller till.

Man skulle kunna likställa detta med RSS-flöden, skillnaden med global dialog är att flödet istället blir aktivt och därför kan man svara direkt på de strömmar man prenumererar på. Om t.ex. min blogg hade utnyttjat Google Wave eller min eget utvecklade plattform så skulle du kunna kommentera mina inlägg var du än du läser detta inlägg, dvs du skulle inte behöva surfa in på just min blogg för att kommentera.

När kommer det bli stort?
Jag misstänker att en global dialog kommer vara självklar redan om 3 år och det är först då det kommer ta fart. Vid det tillfället är det nog också självklart att dialogen även följer med en i t.ex. mobiltelefonen så att man inte missar eller hamnar i ett utanförskap. Vi människor är nämligen väldigt gruppbenägna så det är förmodligen den dragningskraften som gör att vi blir villiga att flytta den globala dialogen till mobilen.

Konkurrensanalys

Jag har ägnat mig en del åt att titta på konkurrenter nu igen när vi har kommit en bit med heminredningssajten. Det är rätt kul faktiskt för jag är en person som blir väldigt inspirerad när jag finner att någon också gjort samma sak som oss, då vill jag prestera bättre. Konkurrens för mig är livsviktig, skulle det inte finnas någon konkurrens tror jag ärligt att jag skulle ha svårt att bygga en populär tjänst.

Viktigt att differentiera sig
Att vara konkurrent är roligt, men något som jag lärt mig är väldigt viktigt är att man måste ha något unikt att erbjuda något som skiljer sig från konkurrenten och vara så intressant att man till och med kan få människor att lämna konkurrenten. Vi har naturligtvis en massa saker som ska skilja oss åt från konkurrenterna, men något jag upptäckt att vi missat totalt med analysen häromdagen är att kommunicera ut det. Ja ni vet tesen syns man inte finns man inte, och det kan även appliceras med att har man inget enkelt sätt att visa vad man erbjuder är det inget som kommer någonsin veta att det finns något bättre.

Nyckelöppnare
Vissa tjänster är enkla att marknadsföra, men att marknadsföra att man är en community ger noll eftersom det inte är något unikt de finns på nätet i överflöd. Därför är det viktigt med nyckelöppnare såsom vårt nya 3D verktyg som också ska hjälpa till att få uppmärksamhet och förståelse för resten av tjänsten och på så sätt fiska in nya besökare. Men det måste som sagt vara relativt unika tjänster annars blir det inga nyckelöppnare.

Erfarenheterna är viktiga att förstå
Det är lite ironiskt att jag har tidigare jobbat utifrån detta konkurrensperspektiv när jag startade de tidigare nätverksplatserna, men nu verkar jag ha missat det ganska grovt. När vi startade Bröllopstorget skiljde vi oss åt de etablerade konkurrenterna på det sättet att vi hade unika planeringsverktyg och man fick en personlig bröllopssida när man blev medlem, det var ju ganska klockrent tillsammans med det sökmotoroptimerade innehållet som skapade relevant trafik till sidan.

Att vara internetentreprenör kan enkelt beskrivas som att man måste segla åt rätt håll, men som alltid vet man inte vilken riktning som gör att man når målet snabbare, det gäller att anpassa sig till rådande omständigheter under resans gång med en stor portion sunt förnuft.

Konflikthantering i ett socialt nätverk – ledningens perspektiv

Det är en regel mer än ett undantag att ledningen i de flesta stora sociala nätverken hanterar konflikter, dispyter och upprop från medlemmarna väldigt dåligt.
